Weekend Thoughts
1: Dogs win. AJ Green is the best (healthy) wide receiver in college football. Our defense looked good. Drew Butler can punt the ball far. Walsh is good.
2: Cadets put up 24 against Charlton. I wasn't at the game so I'm not sure if that came in garbage time or what, but at least they covered the spread.
3: CPC did it again. The end of that game was awesome.
4: The pass interference call at the end of the Florida game was awful. The personal foul call was ridiculous; it was worse than the AJ Green celebration call.
5: I heard Jeff Francouer was rocking and rolling in Savannah this weekend. I guess he didn't make it down to Tybee. He seems like more of a HHI guy anyway.
6: DJ Marty is still doing his thing at Tybee Times.
7: Boise St. -3, Georgia -1/2, and USC -3 worked out well.
8: The Calvary/Portal game was the worst high school football game I've ever seen.
9: 5 more days until the 2004 5 year class reunion. Prediction: about 40 guys show up, about 10 make it into the game, and a handful get arrested later that night. This will be the last 5 year reunion BC has.
10: Apparently, there is a category 5 Hurricane Rick heading for Mexico. The paper said the storm was "extremely dangerous". No shit.

Number 10 may be an understatement.
Walsh is good, but I wouldn't say he was cool.
“I thought it was good off my foot," Walsh said of his first try from 57. "But a make is a make, and I’m glad they called it because it wasn’t cool that the guy jumped over the line.”
Check the weather reports again because I'm pretty sure Hurricane Rick passed through Buckhead Friday night. Several patrons will tell you that category 5 storm was extremely dangerous as well.
This probably deserves its own post but, on a side note, these excessive celebration penalties are getting on my last f'n nerve. The fact that refs are given so much latitude and discretion on these calls is ridiculous. Not that it made a difference in the game, but some Vandy player sacked Cox yesterday and then grabbed JC's towel and threw it 30 ft in the air in a celebratory fashion. No flag thrown there. Tebow takes his helmet off, damn near Lambeau leaps the Swamp, and Gator chomps after every positive play. No flag. Don't even get me started on all the shit Clausen was doing yesterday. The bottom line is they have they have to do something about this rule. More often than not now it is affecting the outcomes of games and that just shouldn't be the case. These are young kids with lots of emotions. They bust their ass all week for Saturdays. Let them have their fun and express those emotions.
Danielson remarked that the SEC officials have taken the rule to a level that hurts the spirit of the game but more importantly the outcome of games. The personal foul on Arkansas was embarrassing.
BC had the ball twice inside the 20in the 2nd half and came away with no points each time.
This is the weakest USC team in a while.
Tybee Time.
Stick is more like a Tybee wave. He's like Carolina, perceived to be big boy but in reality Outback Bowl is the best he can do.
Why the hostility?
And while this may be the weakest USC team in several years, they're still one of the best 3 teams in the country.
