Watching CSS replay. Ealey needs to be playing a lot more.

AJC: “I don’t know what happened,” Cox said, “but it must have been really bad for them to throw a flag after you score the go-ahead touchdown against the No. 4 team in the country with 1:09 to play.”

Much more Ealey, he looked like a stud

Favorite quote from the cbs game summery: from the old white dude on the left, "The rule absolutely has to be abolished. No...it doesn't need to be abolished, just get rid of it."

Smart dude

another great story....rennie curran was wearing the number of the boston college player who was diagnosed with cancer last spring

Barstool69 said...

sure about that PLowe? I thought Rennie's # has been 35 all year as it was yesterday. herzlich's number is 94.

PMac said...

94 was on the back of Rennie's helmet. They talked about it during the broadcast. Rennie=Damn Good Dawg.

good catch PMac. something you miss when you're in the 300s getting sunburned all game.

how many more times will the kickoff team lose to game before CMR does something about it?

Great question. Its now been the better part of the last 3 years and the results are always the same. I dont know why we are so bad. I don't put any of it on the kickers either.

Also, why does Evans still get to play? He was no good at Corner and he aint much better at Safety. I don't believe that the other athletes behind him on the depth chart could be that bad.

O-line was suppose to be the strength of the team. Right now it could very well be our worst unit.

Slic Ric said...

Agree with the o line comment. Very surprising especially since CSS is the best coach on the staff.

Denny said...

well the oline is great and i mean great at pass protection but we cant move anyone in the running game whatso ever, and its not all the ol. its the slow developing run plays, also every run play out of the shotgun needs to be taken out of the playbook

if rambo isnt starting next week then i really dont know what the coahes are looking at on video....why was montez robinson in the game late in the 4th quarter?...why havent we seen carlton thomas (our best rb during the spring and fall camp)?...why do we use so many gimmicks on offesne? the 1st play of the game we have justin fields trying (and failing) to crack back block...we get the ball at midfield and try to run a reverse instead of believing in our offense

i watched most of the night games after ours and counted over 10 play where players celebrated worse than what aj did....hell tebow runs for 3 yards on a 3rd and 1 from his own 40 yd line and runs away from his players waving his arms like one of those wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube men (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onZHpGYFPls)

CSS's name was brought up on the post game show last night by 2 people asking why he is not ever questioned.
I know you won't agree Stick but CWM has done a nice job the past 2 weeks. He's mixed it up a lot more with when he brings it and when he sits back. Houston has helped the cause a lot. At some point it falls on the guys who are in position and just don't make tackles. I'm not a big fan of CWM but the ineptness of the offense the last 2 weeks has done the defense no favors.

Agreed that Rambo needs to start. Why Justin Fields got the start blows my mind. Nice whiff on that block to start the game. And give CWM some credit. The defense has played much better the last 2 weeks and I think it has been great seeing some of the younger guys get in and show what they can do. Particularly, Dowtin, Rambo, Commings, and Washington.

I noticed on 2 seperate occasions AJ was not in on 3rd down plays. That confuses me. Ealey hits it hard and I think that will help plays develop a little quicker. Samuel in my book is our 4th best option at Running Back.

When Smith comes in hes either getting the ball on a hand-off or its a trick play.

When Tebow now does the gator chomp there should be 7 flags on the ground.

I love the fact that they brought Ealey in during the fifth game of the year hoping for a spark. That never would have happened a couple of years ago.

Did Samuel ever go back in after Ealey's first carry? If he didn't, then the coaches may be leaning toward JJH4's assessment.

Samuel was not in on 1 offensive play in the 2nd half. He was on Kickoff coverage. I really don't know why he got this far in the season as the starter. He is big, fast, and strong and I think he could be a very good college football player. I just don't know if it will be at RB.

This probably doesn't warrant its own post, but a few more thoughts I read today about the penalty thing:

Tim Brando, from the video: “They don't want us to go more in-depth on why the SEC is throwing more. I am telling you, it is a conversation, I don’t want to have it, my friend Spencer does not want to have it, and I am telling you, watch out, because people are going to take a closer look at this and it is not going to bode well for the league.”

Paul Westerdawg's take: "What Brando appears to be talking about there is the issue of race. Tim Tebow has never been flagged by an SEC official for celebration; yet, Tebow dances around like an idiot after every two yard run both drawing attention to himself and pandering to the crowd. When LSU scored their first touchdown their offensive linemen were gesturing to the UGA student section and acting wildly on the field celebrating their TD without flag."

And Vince Dooley, sadly not getting it: "Over a long period of time, it's done well. There is too much individualism. It's a team game. It's hard for these guys because they see what the NFL players are doing on Sunday. I think it's controlled college football for 15 years. The rule is good. It hurts when it goes against you, and it's great when it goes for you."

I might be alone on this one, but I agree with Brando wholeheartedly, and I hope he explores this on his radio show sometime soon, because it seems like a conversation worth having.

I heard a radio personality today say Orson Charles, without a doubt, deserved a penalty. If thats the case, and is the rule, then Tebow better start being flagged evey time or this belief is going to take off. I don't know if there is any legitimacy to this idea but I know people are now questioning it. Like Brando said, the SEC wants to do everything in its power to stop this train in its tracks.<- Get it?

And the other thing: There have been a lot of people say that the penalty did not decide the game. It was terrible kickoff coverage once again but the penalty yardage did determine what LSU was allowed to do with the football. Holiday returned the kick 40 yards with a 5yard penalty added on. Instead of having the ball on Georgia's 38 they would have taken over on their own 47. Instead of runing the ball, LSU would more than likely have passed in order to get in FG range. Instead they were able to run in hopes of picking up some yardage and position for a game winning FG. Georgia's defense did miss 3 tackles on Scott's run but Georgia was also selling out in an effort to stop LSU from getting anything more. Not to mention there was a blatant clip on the play that was not called.
If LSU would have taken over at the 47 they still had the opportunity to move the ball and win the game. But to say the penalty did not help decide the game is absolutely bogus.

Officer Doofy never got a flag for pumping up the crowd, I don't see any arguments about that on this blog, quit picking on Tebow.
