UGA VII's epitaph: "CWM Killed Me"

Ideally I'd like CUM to hightail his ass out of Gainesville. Unfortunately I don't see that happening so I think it's Brian Kelly's job to lose. Harbaugh wouldn't be a bad choice for them either seeing as how he's the only coach in America that seems to have CPC's number. The Golden Domers would kill to beat USC again.

I have a lot of respect for CPC. Thats why his remarks yesterday disappointed me. CPC was commenting about how he won't soon forget about Stanford going for 2 to try and make it a round 50 last Saturday. Hey Pistol, don't give up 48. Stanford won't forget either of the past 2 trips to the Coliseum.

Agreed. Inexcusable. At least he didn't pull a CUM and refer to himself in the 3rd person.

USC and UGA are in very similar situations. Both coaches are approaching the 10 year mark. Both programs have been very successful. It seems the greatest successes came early on when both the players and coaches were hungrier because they had to prove themselves to get back onto the national stage. Now players feel more of a sense of entitlement. We're USC or UGA so we can show up and win. Unfortunately it doesn't work that way any more. Complacency seems to have set in a little which is understandable with such sustained success. Same thing happened to Rocky in Rocky III. He had to go back to his humble beginnings to find that eye of the tiger in order to defeat Clubber Lang. Thanks Apollo.

The only differences are that USC has more talent, generally a weaker schedule (not the case this year), 2 national championships, and a revolving door kind of coaching staff.

Another interesting point that someone brought up about CPC is that his staff is a bunch of yes men now and that wasn't always the case. Apparently Norm Chow used challenge Pete often and that was one of the reasons he left. Sound familiar. CMR has a group of yes men assistants too. The one guy that challenged his authority, CBVG, took off because of an alleged conflict. Now there's no checks and balances system on either coaching staff. You need someone to be able to challenge the head coach, not in a mutinous kind of way but as a way to get ideas out there.

Bottom line, both CPC and CMR need to find their Apollo and get back that eye of the tiger. Georgia does because they play in the toughest conference in America and every other team seems to be getting better. For USC, the days of the Pac 10 being a virtual cakewalk are over and depending on who ND hires as a head coach that rivalry could get interesting as well. Both teams are at a crossroads and the coaches need to do some soul searching.

Sorry for that being too long. Probably should have made a post out of it.

Brian Kelly seems like a natural fit, and he has done a great job in his first two years at Cincy. But, like Weis, he is winning with another coach's players.

I really would not be surprised at all if Meyer were to take the ND job, escpecially if he wins the NC this year.
