A Sad, Sad Day

Early this evening I was made aware that Fairmont Restaurant was closing its doors after 18 years of business. The owners cited they wanted to spend more time with their family.

This is a tremendous blow. As a customer on 200+ occasions they treated us like friends and they really did know our name. Was it great food? No. But it was pretty damn good if you didn't eat just the cold vegetables. The sense of familiarity and comfort is something you can't get at many places anymore and that will be sorely missed. Hilliard's will cushion the blow but never fill the void. Here's to you friend.

Any suggestions on non-Ryan's or Ms. Alston's Corral buffets?

I'm not sure what is going to be put there in its place but there should be some kind of monument in remembrance of this wonderful establishment.

Any Chinese buffet would suffice for me.
