When Is It Going To Be Our Turn?

I'm still waiting while Georgia athletics continues to disappoint. Enough of the excuses about refs, injuries, suspensions, etc. just go out and win games. Take care of business. This goes for all sports. Barring a miracle, this "star studded," "best basketball team at Georgia in awhile" is NIT bound, the football team's troubles are well documented (although I'm cautiously optimistic about 2011, mainly because South Carolina is the front runner in the East and that's just a bad joke), and from what JJBA tells me the baseball team could be just as bad as last year when they gave up 10+ runs seemingly every game. The high school talent available in Georgia in all 3 of those sports provides a built-in advantage 99% of schools and coaches around the country would kill to have at their disposal. I hear over and over again about the outrageous monetary numbers the Athletic Association pulls in year in and year out. Most of the athletic facilities have been upgraded or are in the process of being upgraded. The excuses are drying up pretty quick. Ultimately, the blame lies exactly where it should and that is with the coaches and players. Both groups are under performing to the point where things are just getting downright ridiculous. We need to start delivering the punch again instead of becoming the punchline for other SEC teams.

The good news: 4 weeks (or 28 days) away from the biggest day of the year and nothing can ruin that feeling!
Doesn't get any better than this...

Looking forward to the BC Alumni event tomorrow evening, the Marshall's Election/Reception next weekend, and of course the Triiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnniiiiitttttyyyyyyyyyyyy! Erin Go Brah!

Here's an Arthur's Basement for good measure:

slic stepping it up.

Xavier game was bad, but I don't think the refs were a factor here at all.

The basketball team can't close games out for s***. Overtime against Auburn was bad, the second half of that South Carolina game was pathetic, and now this. They don't even deserve to be on the bubble. Fire Fox fill the Tub. Not really but it is frustrating and I don't even really care about basketball but I bought into the hype and became somewhat emotionally invested this season. This blows.

Once again, the Bulldogs had their opportunities, and, once again, they squandered them. There are only so many "must win" games you can lose before it no longer matters whether you win or lose, and this Georgia team, unfortunately, has passed that point of no return. This Georgia team isn’t going to the NCAA Tournament, and for the very simple reason that this Georgia team doesn’t deserve to go.

The Diamond Dogs open their season at Stetson on Friday evening at 6:30. David Perno’s Georgia baseball team is picked to finish fifth in the SEC East. Maybe this will be the first Red and Black team in recent memory not to fall short of expectations. At this rate, I wouldn’t bet on it, but it’s time to move on from this disappointment to the next.

Sorry I had the Marshall House on the brain. Thinking about staying there this year because it is the only place downtown with any rooms left. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. Still $300+/night. Pmac says it's nice.

Rooms STILL available at Sandcastle Inn: 299 per night PLUS tax.

Slic Ric said...

Does that include round trip "Crab Cab" fare?

The Hilton always sets aside rooms for the Parade Committee, but they usually don't make them available until about now. Try calling them and telling them you are a Parade Committee member.

Yea just give the Marshall House a credit card around 2am the morning of the parade and you are golden. Nice place.

Snuffy thanks to my pops reading this blog he called and asked me about that. A deal may be in the works.

Sandcastle does the same thing for Parade Committee members for the Tybee parade.
