Acceptance

To me, it's not so much the outcome as the fact that Colorado should never be in the game late against a respectable BCS conference team -- especially one that has reason to be motivated going in. Hold on to the ball, kick the field goal, and this is still a disappointment.

This game revealed two things: A.J. Green really is that good. Georgia really is that bad.

and schools that rush the field after beating a 1-4 team must have lost their minds, that makes UGA look that much worse while making Colorado look stupid at the same time

People always say the opposing team's fans are the nicest fans ever after their team gang raped your team.

Oh yeah, fire everyone. Even Mcgarity and Grantham. They've both been tainted by CMR so they're no good any more either.

I don't know if I'm completely off base on this so let me know if I am. I'm starting to look at A.J. Green's career as a bust. Not A.J., but his career. The guy is one of the best college football players I have seen in the last decade. Maybe the very best, #1 receiver of the last decade. What he did last night was not much different than what he's done his whole career when they throw him the ball (CMR's halftime interview on TV was either a shot at Bobo or just realizing how stupid he was personally).

His freshman year he was great and along with MoMass formed the best WR duo in Georgia history. Last year he won the ASU game by himself, all by himself. But then he misses 4 games as Georgia's season loses relevancy. Not his fault that he got hurt but still. Then the debacle with the NCAA. Like many have said, 1 guy shouldn't dictate your whole team's season. But what I saw last night reaffirmed what I believe would be a 3-2 football team right now with lots to play for had A.J. Green not broken the rules.

Theres no argument that he is the best WR to ever play at Georgia by a huge margin. But I'm interested in how he will be remembered. With this season done before he even started, was he ever playing for anything important or relevant for Georgia? For the most part it wasn't his fault but outside of a few games his freshman year I say no. And in my opinion his time at Georgia was a waste.

In regards to CMR's job, I continue to believe he is back no matter what next year. But a 4-8 record makes McGarity's post season press conference a little interesting.

Also, Vance Cuff should have not played a down after his 3rd penalty. Hell probably not even after the 2nd. I don't care if hes a senior, captain, or if Dobbs has to play corner.

There are 86 problems with the program but if we don't have something better than Hamilton at safety then we deserve to lose 11 this year.

I didn't think our RB's were very good last year and they still aren't. I think its pretty clear though that King is the guy to go with. The O-line is still an amazement.

He's on the short list of greatest players to suit up for Georgia, who came along at a not-so-great time as far as "relevancy" is concerned.

Any of Richt's first seven seasons, he could have been the difference in winning the national championship. As it was, he came in the year things really started to erode.

His legacy should be something along the lines of: he did a lot to keep the team afloat while things were going badly.

First year, he and the skill players kept Georgia relevant with a struggling defense. Second year, he was the offense when he was healthy. This year, he looks like the only bright spot right now.

At the start of the '09 season someone very close to the program told me that people will never truly appreciate how great Stafford and Moreno were. His reasoning was they were so great they covered up the many, many deficiencies that had developed within the program. So great they not only covered them up but took them to the Sugar Bowl despite the things that were working against them.

In the same mold, without A.J. Green we are probably having this season last year. And I agree that with him in '02 or '07 I think we win a NC.

The 2008 offense was arguably the best in Georgia history, and the offensive line really wasn't very good that year.

Still, a lot of people I know like to downgrade Stafford and Moreno because they had to compensate for a bad defense and teammates who loved to commit 15-yard penalties.

Oh, can't forget the kickoff coverage. (Love you, Fabris.)

If anyone cares, people on the message boards are trying to get everybody to email mcgarity about the football program. his email is gmcgarity@sports.uga.edu. I already emailed him, and he responded. I am sure it was just one of those automotive response things
