The Real Dawg Duo?

No, I am not talking about Bliss and Holland. And maybe they aren't the real Dawg Duo, but Holland and Sheahan are awesome. I can't make it to the game tonight, but that's fine because I get to listen to Holland get excited and Sheahan hammer the officials. Will field goals result in Sheahan's patented "BINGO!"? Who knows, but I can't wait to find out.

Give em' hell, Cadets!

Glory Days (Warning: Way too long)

Friday I will play for the fourth team in my flag football career. Of course, I started my career as a member of the Wild Stallions, whom I will consider myself a part of until the day I die. One night junior year I came to the Boro and played a game with Andrew and Shane's team. When I was the only one left in Athens last fall, besides Schiv who was in law school, I joined the team of Cavalaliers, Saints, and Dave Bliss. Now, I am set to join the Shar-dets. (Combination of Sharks and Cadets).

Last year the Shar-dets, who were then known as TapOut, made the semi-finals in the C division, so we should be pretty good with the addition of myself and PLowe. Some of my new horsemen, including Jonathan "Ric" Williams, Tyler Crawford, and Travis Williams are on the team. Even my gas brother's brother, Cameron Dixon, is on the team. And we've got the Janufka twins who are good guys. So I've got some of my new horsemen and one of my best friends on my team. Should be fun, right?

I couldn't be less excited about Friday. I don't know if it's the fact that I am playing center while Dixon and the Janufkas are the receivers or the fact that I don't get to play defense at all, but I am just not feeling it.

To be honest though, playing with the Cavs, Saints, and Bliss in Athens wasn't much fun either. Playing with the Stallions was awesome. Maybe it's just that I was with a lot of my best friends, or that I got to play the positions I wanted, but it was damn awesome.

Rick wore under armor long before it was popular. He ran the defense, and we blitzed enough to make BVG and Muschamp's defenses look like soft zones. Holland ran the offense. He was quick enough to be an effective scrambler and run the option, but he had the arm-strength and accuracy to throw the ball whenever we needed/wanted to. He also knows more about football/flag football than anyone else I know so I didn't mind listening to him when he told me we couldn't throw it up to me on every play.

Larry and Patrick didn't allow a sack in 3 seasons. And when it came time to drop one over the middle, they caught it. The few personal fouls we received for their comments to the refs were well worth it.

And speaking of personal fouls, Wolfe set the tone the first time he scored and spun the ball in the endzone. But it was fun to play with Tony. He was a great possession receiver. He suffered through a few injuries, but shit happens. And the duck he threw to end one of our seasons still makes me LOL.

Jack's roommate, Rand, was a lockdown corner. He was good. And say what you want about Hotard, but he got after it. Doan came on board later, but he didn't really do much, except screw up our special teams.

In conclusion, I don't know what exactly it was that made playing with the Wild Stallions so awesome. But I miss the hell out of it. It was awesome, and we were awesome. I hope this flag football will be fun, but I know it won't compare to any of the seasons I had with the Stallions.

Tailgate CD

The 2009 Tailgate CD is in the works. Once again the powers at be are allowing all contributors to OIA to nominate 1 song to be put on the compilation.

This years CD will have a more contemporary feel with less of the old favorites. On that same note, "Land Down Under" will officially be retired prior to the Georgia vs. Oklahoma State game.

Along with the song you nominate feel free to reflect on some of your favorite "Land Down Under" memories.

Thom Brenneman in GQ

"Tebow is six feet three and 245 pounds, all thick polygons and smooth flat planes and inescapable corn-fed handsomeness. He’s wearing a billowy white shirt and loose-fitting jeans that somehow only underscore the solidity of his bulk, like a tarpaulin draped over a concrete pylon."

Between the 30-second riffs Cowherd gives while Michelle Beadle listens intently, the pointless percentage games, tired viral video clips and "fake calls," it's making Around the Horn look like The Wire by comparison.

DeFilippis in the News

B.C graduate A.J. DeFilippis (hard name to spell) was in the SMN today. Coach spoke very highly of him.

DeFillipis on being the #1 QB during spring practice:

"It helped a lot," DeFilippis said. "I got more experience. It doesn't really matter how talented a person is. Experience will kill them if they don't have it. I feel that I got a lot of experience, and I feel better coming into camp because I got more experience."

Here at OIA, we hope you experience success in all your experiences.

Rich McGowan

This guy is from Michigan but he has done a really good job since coming to the SMN a couple of years ago. It seems as if he really likes his job unlike some of the high school reporters that preceded him. Being from outside this area he has even brought to light some of the shortcomings of high schools in this area. Here is his blog from BC practice yesterday morning.

He Good

Top 5 Georgia athlete ever, Gordon Beckham, was named the American League Rookie of the Month for July. Beckham has settled into the 2 hole for the contending White Sox and some are considering him a front runner for rookie of the year.
He will surely hit a skid at some point but I don't think anyone thought this much success would come this soon. He is currently one of two players from the 2007 draft in the majors.

The combination of Beckham, Ken "Hawk" Harrelson, and the Braves not making the playoffs again make the White Sox my new favorite team.

I Think I'm In Love

I know certain powers-that-be on this blog aren't exactly the biggest fans of my themed Top 5 “music posts,” as they've come to be known, so I realize I might really be treading on thin ice with them by posting this. But I also feel like I have to talk about this with somebody, so here goes.

This record is the greatest thing I've listened to in years. Years. And I like to think I listen to my fair share of records.

Those Darlins are three broads from Murfreesboro, Tenn., whose decision to form a band was the best thing to happen in that state since P-44 Haynes. This thing is pretty much equal parts garage rock, oldy-time country and Phil Spector girl-group pop. It's like they were created in a lab specifically to make me fawn over them like a school girl.

I know most of you could give a damn about this, but like I said, I just needed to voice my feelings on it somewhere. Half the record is on their MySpace page here, and clips of every song are here on their Web site. The whole thing is also out there. If you know where to look.

Anyway, just do me a favor, give them a listen and let me know if there's something wrong with me for going crazy over this thing. I'll buy you a drink on Tybee Friday night or something.

Carry on. Let's get back to making Stic famous.

With A Lionheart

For those who bet against him...

See ya' this weekend motherf***ers!

It was all part of the plan. JD knew what he was doing all along. Get suspended from the PGA Tour and go play on the European Tour. Gear up and focus for one of the bigger tournaments you're guaranteed to play in this year by playing and practicing under those conditions for several months. Then, make another run at greatness. That's just what he's doing. He played us all. Well played sir, well played indeed.

This May Not Even Be Worth Reading, But Whatever

Jeff Schultz is just killing it at the AJC today.

First, he informs us that the Braves' best players have to play well if they're going to win the division. Who knew?

"Nate McClouth: It’s important to remember that he was not Plan A in center fielder (sic)."

Not sure why that's important at all, but O.K.!

The real story, though, is this post.

"I didn’t really like the trade when general manager Frank Wren made it just before the All-Star break, and I still don’t like it."

Fair enough. Convince me.

"Why would you trade him? Because I see only two scenarios in which I think you move Francoeur during the year: You make a trade for a player who you are pretty sure is going to help you get to the playoffs this season. You make a trade for a player who you are pretty sure is going to help you get to the playoffs next season."

Jeff Francoeur was essentially the worst everyday player in baseball. Thus, any player you trade him for will make your team better. I'm assuming "help you get to the playoffs" means "actually increase the odds you get to the playoffs," which anyone who isn't the worst player in baseball would do if the Braves traded Francoeur for him, rather than "single-handedly win the NL East on the strength of his will," but I'll admit that may be a bit too charitable.

"What evidence is there in his resume that Church can do either?"

Jeff Francoeur career OPS+: 90. Ryan Church career OPS+: 107.

"He’s a fourth outfielder."

At least he's not a AAA outfielder like the guy he was traded for.

"He’s with his fourth team in six seasons."

...and has posted a 107 OPS+ with those four teams to Francoeur's 90 on one team.

"We’ve seen what he is: a nice player with a .272 career average and no power. Correct me if I’m wrong: But platoon outfielders with a .272 career average and no power generally are not in short supply, are they?"

They apparently are for the Braves, who trotted arguably the worst player in baseball out there every night for the last year and a half. Bag Ryan Church all you want. He's not much better than average, but he is - without question - a better baseball player than Jeff Francoeur.

"Until then, at least you would have given Francoeur another half-season to work out his issues. And by the way: at 25, he’s got time to work out those issues."

If Ryan Church is what he is after 1,755 major-league at bats, then Jeff Francoeur also is what he is after 2,641 major-league at bats.

Look, Francoeur is a nice guy and was an awesome story and fun to watch when he first came up. I want the guy to do well. I talked to him one time in the Braves dugout and stuff. But he's been really terrible at playing baseball games for going on two years now.

He smiles a lot and throws the ball hard and looks like he's trying and hits home runs really far on the rare occasions he gets hold of one. But it would be totally unprecedented for someone at his age to go from what he is now to what all these people were hoping he'd be like three years ago. At this point, it would be surpring if he turned into just a serviceable player.

This shouldn't be about the Braves or Frank Wren, anyway. They got a "nice player" for someone they were going to cut at the end of the year without even initiating the trade. To me, all this story says about Wren is that he must be pretty good at pushing the mute button on his speakerphone really fast when Omar Minaya calls him to propose a trade. Because he was probably laughing. Get it?

I also don't hate Schultz or anything. He's generally pretty good and all. I just put a little more faith in things like facts and figures than gut feelings and conventional wisdom. But that's just me.

One last thing, though. I do need a little help dissecting this line at the beginning of the Francoeur post. It must be way over my head:

"Seriously, I’m curious: When Jeff Francoeur steps to the plate tonight, what will you do? Boo? Cheer? Wonder how this affects Willie Martinez’s plans in Stillwater?"

Update:

Furman Bisher successfully one-ups his colleague - "I don’t understand how it came to that. Neither do I understand just why a hitting slump can’t be cured like the common cold."

I sure do hate those two-year batting slumps. Don't you?

Friday, July 10, 2009

The Mets Must Really Hate the Phillies...

...or at least that the only reason I can think of for why they decided to make the Braves better at their own expense today. Because the ones Omar Minaya's giving right now make my head hurt.

"We like Ryan Church a lot," Minaya said. "But right now we just wanted to change it up a little bit. Unfortunately for him (Church), he got hurt. When he got hurt, he was having a pretty good year. ... We thought we just needed something different. It had nothing to do with not liking Ryan.... One thing we like about Francoeur is the amount of games that he plays."

Dull Blog?

Apparently Shane thinks this blog needs a little shaking up during Barstool's ongoing absence, so... don't mind if I do.

Here are the Top Five Stick Dick Summer Jams for the July 4 weekend (that I could find on YouTube). I'm just amazed that I hadn't thought of this one before.

King Khan and the Shrines – “No Regrets”

Anyone who knows Slic Stic Dic knows that the title of this song perfectly describes his life's philosophy. As the great King Khan sings, simply: “I don't regret a thing/ If I did it wouldn't be the same/ So I don't regret a thing”.

Bruce Springsteen – “Night”

Many of the characters in the Boss' songs live by the adage “Work hard. Play harder.” And our boy is no different. After a long day of hauling in big-name clients for his employer, he always ready “to blow 'em away in the night.”

Art Brut – “Alcoholics Unanimous”

Check the opening verse: “Slept on my face and woke up confused/ A bit concerned about what I've been up to/ There's so many people I might have upset/ I apologize to them all with the same group text.” Sounds like a morning at Campus Lodge to me. Except for the whole apology thing.

The Hold Steady – “Constructive Summer”

“Double whiskey Coke no ice”? More like double Tattoo Rock Star no ice, am I right?

And the last song really needs no explanation:

The Dominoes – “Sixty Minute Man”

Close Call...

Today I found out that two other people have been laid off from my department. This makes 5 total throughout the whole company. Both of them had more billable hours (how we get evaluated) than I did last year and both have more years of experience in the retirement plan industry. The only things that sets me apart from them is a) I'm a man b.) I went to B.C. and c.) I pass all of my exams to become a Qualified 401(k) Administrator.

Thank God for those tests....

In other news,

Al Franken becomes the United States 60th Senator after a long fought battle. Does anyone remember Stuart Smalley? Worst character from SNL that I can think of. I would post a clip, but it seems everything has been removed from YouTube.

Carrel, this is Sassy.

Also, as Donnie mentioned earlier, dat a boy Mark Sanford. Turns out this wasn't just a one-time thing. (Hey look a link that works) Of course his political career is over and that's somewhat of a shame but you have to give it to the guy, he knows how to pick'em. I haven't seen any pictures of the Argentinian women yet but I bet she's hot. Oh yeah, and the women he is married to is a filthy rich former investment banker who knew about the affair the whole time. Now that's a girl you marry!!

Hey honey, thanks for the four kids and all the campaign money

Can't wait for Barstool to get back and save us all from the mediocrity of this ever-so-dulling blog. Hopefully it won't be long.

Cody

For a week as exciting and enthralling as this I expected some more posting. I guess nervousness is the emotion that has taken over instead.

Former Georgia great Gordon Beckham had a walk-off hit for the Chicago White Sox this past week and seems to be settling in a bit. His college teammate, and the man that CDP said was just as important as Becks, Ryan Peisel, will be visiting Savannah this week as the Sand Gnats host the Asheville Tourist. Georgia led the country in draftees this year so this could become a more common occurrence.

Who's Bad with the man who almost killed Stick, E'Casanova, will be in Charleston July 24th and 25th.

I still think my fellow dawg duo menber will take care of business but I also believe Bunger will come to play.

This week's golf tourney is an offical qualifier for the RACK Open.

V-necks, SJS gray pants, kamikazes, and 8Es are all extremely cool but get a raw deal.

Salute to CJW, Ogletree, and Cars.

ESPN Crap

I, like some on this blog, have never been a big fan of the Boston/New York flagship station. Tonight they are going to cut into the CWS Finals to show Live coverage of the Albuquerque Isotopes Pacific League game. Whether you agree or disagree with Manny Ramierez being able to participate in baseball, prior to the conclusion of his 50-game suspension for cheating, this is absolutely absurd. I am a college baseball fan but my opinion would be no different if the game that was being interrupted was some soccer tournament in South Africa. A national championship game is going to take a back seat to meaningless minor league at bats by a non-future Hall of Famer. Can't wait until Herbstreit tells me why a Michigan-Ohio State rematch is a must for the National title.

Happy Birthday, Barstool!

On Sunday, Schiv turned 24. While he parties down on the other side of the planet, I'd like to join everyone at OIA and OITO-with the exception of Shane- in wishing BS a very happy birthday.

9 years ago Schiv and I were plebes at Benedictine. I couldn't really tell the difference between him and Cadet Hurley. He has since become one of my best friends.

10 things about Schiv:

1: He is a proud BC man. Not one of those guys who big-leagues fellow BC grads for 4 or 5 years and then come back and act like everything's cool. No, Schiv made trips to Augusta to watch the Cadets play and showed up at Tommy Cannon Court to root on the BC Cadets on the hardwood over many Christmas breaks.

2: He is a proud KA. He met some cool guys, and he hung out at Bourbon Street a lot. While the frat debate is yet to come, my pro-frat argument is based on Schiv in the Order.

3: His progression as an internet bully has been amazing. From the old GAVSV message boards to the blogs of today, Schiv has been an expert in scaring people as well as making them laugh and cry.

4: Smart/well informed/ practical. Such things will allow him to run a successful grass roots campaign to become Savannah's mayor in a few years.

5: He enjoys the good things about Tybee: the non-cracker parts of the beach, food from the Quarter, and frozen drinks at Tybee Times.

6: He does not like the bad things about Tybee: Gayna's.

7: He's resilient. As many times as Jack and Rick's team have beaten Schiv's team in 3-on-3 football, he continues to come back for more. One day he will be victorious. And he's comfortable knowing he'd beat their asses in tennis and soccer.

8: He was the inspiration behind the class of 04's historic victory against the class of 03 at the C-Lodge Cage. His lay-ups and being able to lock down Shane were keys to our victory.

9: He has good taste in women.

10: He loves to singa.

Be back soon!!!

Living the island life In Langkawi for Bryan's Birthday Celebration Week 2009. Get back to you all Sunday.

Peace,
Schiv

What should the Braves Do?

Since the braves missed the playoffs for the first time in 14 years they have continued to have the "we can win now" mentality, which at times seemed to be justified, but has put them where they are now. Instead of making trades to win now they need to make trades to win in 2011.

This might be too much for Rick but...

Remember how we were looking up reviews of the Sandcastle last weekend? Well, it seems that Schiv was struck with the same brilliant idea...

From Schiv (in China)

I present the Top 5 Sandcastle Inn reviews on Trip Advisor (D, I hope you don't take these too personally):

1.This hotel is the nastiest place on earth! There was blood and boogers on the headboards. The management were uneducated and rude. I would never let any human being near this place. It is a [--] hole. Stains on the maitresses and there were stray cats running throughout their hotel laundry room. Please do not ever stay here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. We paid for one room for 2 nights and checked in to the room finding the plumbing messed up, light bulbs not in lamps, fridge nor microwave would work, and hair in our beds. We had to change rooms becuse the toliet would not flush. Got to another room they gave us to find sand in our beds, the sink clogged, the light in the bathroom blown, and one pillow. The next day we went and complained to the front desk clerks and they told us to Shuu! They did not want to hear it!! later own after we left we called back to speak with the owner/manger because it was privatly owned and come to find out it was him who told us to Shuuu! please tell me what happened to customer service!!!

3. We checked in to the Sandcastle Inn on Tuesday night. We stayed in room 104. We went to bed and started itching and switched to the other bed and the same thing happened. We checked the mattress and box springs and they were dirty and covered only by a thin mattress pad with no cover. We called the front dest and switched to room 108. The beds were better but something brown like fungus was growing in the sink. We stayed the night but did not shower and had bottled water to brush out teeth. We were lucky we only paid 60$ This Inn was beyond bad and we checked into the Ocean Plaza Beach Resort with a beautiful room and Ocean view...We paid only $119.

4.I'd made reservations online for 2 rooms and was quoted one rate, which was higher than I ordinarily pay, but agreed. When I checked in, I was offered a different rate,`100 dollars less for being a walk in! I was elated! Much to my ire, the cashier changed her mind when she saw that I'd made reservations and refused to honor the lesser rate! The rooms she offered smelled so dank, and unclean, they were unacceptable. She moved us to different rooms which were tolerable, but still dirty. Our only other recourse was to leave and forfiet the $300. fee since they demand a 72 hour cancellation. We were trapped and couldn't wait to get out of there. If you want a lovely beach, go to Hilton Head or Florida. Not Tybee.

5. We checked into the hotel with another couple. We were given a room and come to find out we were in a room that the air conditioner wasn't working properly, the frig didn't work, the plumbing was backed up in the sink and half the lights didn't have light bulbs. The hotel operators told us that this wasn't their problem and to hush. It made the trip Horrible!

For a good contrast, I'm planning a little weekend getaway to an island off the coast of Malaysia. Everything is so cheap there that for the price it would cost to stay at the Sandcastle for the weekend I can get a roundtrip ticket and a two night stay with meals included at the place pictured below. Seriously, if anyone is interested in moving out here, opening a bar and living like a king, let me know.

Sporting News 2009 SEC Fearless Forecasts:

1. Tim Tebow will become the best college football quarterback of all time. A second Heisman Trophy would strengthen his cause, but many thought he was robbed in last year’s voting.

2. LSU will be back and better than Alabama. The Tigers will regain that nasty defensive streak that abandoned then in 2008, and top-shelf running back Charles Scott can still control the line of scrimmage behind a bulky offensive line.

3. Ole Miss will win at least 10 games. For al the Heat Houston Nutt has taken over the years, the guy can still coach. He’ll have no problem pumping out wins with 15 starters retuning and a deep 2009 recruiting class.

4. Georgia won’t miss Matthew Stafford. Good riddance to his 33 career interceptions in a Georgia uniform. New quarterback Joe Cox isn’t going to win games by himself, but he won’t hurt the Bulldogs like Safford did.

Long lost photo. This made me laugh for over a week. Oh the pleasures of living downtown.

Few Notes

Rick, you've lost your mind. DeRiter was the last person to hurt my ankle. When that happened it was an accident. IOU one punch to the nose next time I see you.

Will Ferrell
might be the funniest person to ever have two dozen films completely flop!

Buckhead was fun. Stayed up late Friday night. Haven't done that in a long time. Things got out of control. Rick slept in a chair...both nights...when nobody slept in his bed.

Conan O'Brien
is on fire. Funniest late night guy on television. Thursday he has Norm McDonald coming on. This is a much watch as Norm McDonald is probably one of the funniest people of our generation.

Great Quotes:

"Magic Johnson has received a $900 000 retainer to write a book on how not to get AIDS. Chapter 1: Don't have sex with me."

"Thurman Thomas has just broken a few of OJ's records recently. He now leads the Bills in touchdowns, and yards. Next up.... killing three people at once."

If this doesn't make you happy nothing will....

Dead Blog

Pretty good basketball game tonight. Anyway, I think the best way to wake this place up during Barstool's absence is pretty obvious: another Top 5!

Not really a theme to this first Top 5 in a while, other than that I can't wait to listen to this stuff on the road during a mini-vacation starting in a couple days.

The Replacements – “Alex Chilton”

Would be the best song by maybe the best band ever if not for “Left of the Dial.” Yes, I just snuck an extra song into this “Top 5.” Sue me.

Stevie Wonder – “I Was Made To Love Her”

Awesome as Stevie Wonder is, you could probably use this song to convince me that the dude peaked when he wrote it at 17. He definitely never topped it, that's for sure.

Jason Isbell – “Jailbreak”

The new album by this guy who was in Drive-By Truckers for a time is easily the best thing I've heard all year, and I don't think I've talked about it on here yet. He does a pretty good cover here of that Thin Lizzy song that isn't “The Boys Are Back in Town.”

Camera Obscura – “French Navy”

I'm guessing JJH4 is the only one around here who might be willing to get down with this, but that's cool. Maybe Barstool, too, when he returns from the Far East.

Gin Blossoms – “Allison Road”

A forgotten gem of the previous decade and the best Gin Blossoms song. “Hey Jealousy” is alright, but c'mon.

BARSTOOL!

OIA members:

Nihao from China. My first though of this place is "my god, I would pay Rick's airfare over here just to see what happens". Beijing is unreal. No holds-bar, everything and anything goes. The bar street we went to last night definitely has elements of Bourbon Street in NOLA. We just bought cigars and 50 cent beers and walked around while Chinese guys tried to get us to come in the bars by saying: "Herro sir, yes shir, you come in. You want lady? Lady inside. 10 cent beer, you come bar now".

Fun stuff...I'll keep in touch.

Happy (Belated) Birthday, Home Run Joey

On Tuesday, Joey turned 24. Unfortunately, I was too busy drinking frozen drinks and house hunting in Statesboro to construct a birthday post in his honor. Better late than never I guess.

10 good things about Joey:

1:Absolutely flawless hair. There are guys at Ole Miss, Alabama, and Georgia who would kill for what Joey's got going on. With the Ping hat out of the question, Peggy will have to fight off the skanks.

2: He can drink a lot without getting obnoxious. Joey is a cool guy who's fun to hang out with. As he drinks more, he becomes even cooler. Few people have this trait.

3: He runs one hell of a blog. OTIO saw dark days but Joey brought it back, and now it's stronger than ever.

4: There are a lot of funny people who say funny things, and there are a lot of people who write funny things. Joey can do both without saying or writing that much.

5: He has a cool chickenhead in Peggy. He does her thing with her but she doesn't run his life. She's good looking and cool and doesn't bother me so he's got a winner.

6: He appreciates the nightlife and restaurants on Tybee Island.

7: His recap of the infamous Scary Croissant incident is still the funniest thing I've ever heard.

8: Joey appreciates Rick for who he is.

9: He's a smart guy, and he likes sports a lot. He knows a lot about sports. I've yet to hear him tell someone how smart he is or say shit that tries to prove how smart he is. He's the same way with sports.

10: He's just a good guy- one of the guys that you can't see ever changing. 30 years from now he'll be right there with us drinking beers on the beach or eating wings at the Quarter.

Good luck in Augusta, Home Run Joey. You are certainly a big dog and a good friend.

10-6!

Anymouse and I...

are two wins away from the heartland.

Celebrating Mediocrity

This full page ad came from today's edition of "The State" which is the state of South Carolina's main newspaper. Now before some smart ass points it out, I know Georgia did not accomplish this feat this year. That's not the point. The point is that even if they had the AJC sure as well wouldn't run a full page ad on it. While most SEC schools strive for excellence across the board year in and year out, Mitchell's lamecocks are happy just sitting at .500. God I hope our program never drops down to that sad, depressing, but most of all pathetic level.

Those Receiver Groups With Cadets Bell, Young and Palaan Are Really Paying Off

Another BC alum makes good with a head coaching position, according to the Savannah Morning News. "Benedictine High School" should never have made it past their editors, however.

Hey JJH4, maybe he's looking for a hotshot young assistant coach?

Randar Thoughts

- - What do you do when the management and fan support -- of a shitty team, from a shitty division, playing a shitty sport(?) -- is shitty and can't pay there bills? Make tax-payers do it!!

Horraaaay!!! Bigger Government!!

-- Donnie Darko is the strangest and most confusing movie I have ever seen. Comparable to Psycho, it will make your head spin and with about 20 minutes left in the film (as well as immediately after in my case) you will probably have no clue what is going on. It also has a sequel coming out that will probably be just as bad as Psycho 2.

-- Gotta get that boom-boom-boom?

-- With Joey gone (please reconsider staying!?), I need to find a new Saturday day-drinking partner. Im currently looking into acquiring A. Sauers. Or perhaps, Bunger.

Best things about Joey: 1) His PING hat, 2) his drinking ability, 3) His "down-for-anything"ness attitude, but most of all 4) his ability to sit on a toilet and puke in a sink (That Central Michigan game was ugly). I'm sad to see Joey go - excited to see Barstool go - and will miss him dearly (Joey that is, not Barstool)

-- If you can still read this, Barstool, I have five words of advice for you: Don't catch asian out there. Easy way to remember this is: DCAOT.

-- Piggy-back-
(Verb) 1. To ride on the shoulders or back: ride piggyback; a piggyback ride.
(Adj/Adv) 2. By or relating to a method of transportation in which truck trailers are carried on trains, or cars on specially designed trucks.
(Adj/Adv) 3. In connection with something larger or more important
